President Bush visits Kansas City

The president was in Kansas City Tuesday.

Bush stopped by the General Motors Fairfax plant to push for more fuel-efficient vehicles.

The president irked some automakers last year when he said they needed to make "a product that's relevant."

President Bush has set the goal of reducing U.S. fuel demand by 20 percent over the next ten years.

"The American people expect us to work together," the President said. "And I'm confident that we can and congress needs to pass good bipartisan energy legislation. And they need to do it by the start of the summer driving season. hat would be a good sign that we recognize that we got a problem here in America, that we aim to solve it together."

The plant at Fairfax makes hybrid vehicles, including the Saturn Aura and the electric-gasoline Aura Green Line.
