TAG team fights graffiti problem in Topeka
Community invited to pitch in Saturday

Tag is slang for writing graffiti, but one group is using the term to fight back against this crime.
Members of TAG, or Teens Against Graffiti, clean up and paint property that's been damaged by graffiti. A group of more than 60 volunteers have already committed to Saturday's beautification project.
"It's not just teens, even though we've named it Teens Against Graffiti. We'd like to have everyone come out and help," Keep America Beautiful Executive Director Philicia McKee said.
Volunteers are asked to meet at the Law Enforcement Center, 320 S. Kansas Ave. at 1 p.m. Adult supervision is required if you are under 16. People are asked to bring equipment to help paint if you have it.
The Keep America Beautiful volunteers here in Topeka have fulfilled their mission in many ways aside from graffiti abatement. Wednesday, the volunteers built a park in the Elmhurst neighborhood called Elmhurst Greens. (See story.)
About one week ago, the group revitalized Willow Park near St. Francis.
"We had about 44 volunteers helping us with that, and made a big improvement in that park," she said.
