Festival of Speed parade set for tonight
Week-long event offers unique experiences for the whole family

Heartland Park Topeka's Festival of Speed slows down tonight with a parade. And, it's not too late to get involved.
Staging begins at 6 p.m. in the Kansas Judicial Center parking lot. Any community member or business is invited to participate.
The parade begins at 7 p.m. and will go through downtown. You may catch a glimpse of an Sports Car Club of America racer. The parade is expected to last about an hour.
The action really revs up this weekend.
The community is invited to a variety of activities Friday through Sunday, including a High Octane Band Brawl. Six local bands, who have been pre-selected, will compete for $1,600 in prizes. That event starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Attendees will help decide the winner.
A chili cook-off is scheduled for noon Saturday, and amateur and professional chefs alike are invited to compete for cash prizes.
A family fair takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for children.
In addition to all of that, the races are going on. The SCCA National Championship Runoffs feature hundreds of drivers competing in a variety of races.
